Please help me find this movie, it's driving me CRAZY

Okay, I remember the movie started with this pan out of a city... and the title was some thing that had a 'the' something, it began with an e, or had voyage or something (???) in the title... It was a 70's-80's movie, or around ET's time... but I saw it in 5th grade (so it's a kids movie) so it could have been made anytime up until the early 2000's. Anyway, there's this boy, and he crosses these railroad tracks, and ends up in the future. (You know the drill, goes home, his family aren't there..) There's this alien in this spaceship that collects other aliens/creatures and goes through time to get them all or something. (I especially remember this part where the boy is looking at all of them and goes to touch an innocent looking one, only to have it almost bite his finger off.) The boy is with him(? The alien) and can't go back to his time because it's too dangerous of a process or something... the boy is found by some government testing place thing (complete with doctors and one-way glass), and breaks out by going into a cart or trash robot thing. the spaceship comes back and they're flying over this desert place (like Nevada...maybe) to get him home... And that's all I remember.

I would _greatly_ appreciate it if anyone could give me even the _slightest_ clue what this movie was called. Thanks in advance.

Hi Kitsunegirl911,

I think you will find this film was called 'Flight of the Navigator'. It was made in 1986 and starred Joey Cramer as David Scott Freeman, Paul Reubens as Trimaxion (or Max), which was the computer/heart of the ship.

There was also an early appearance of Sarah Jessica Parker as Carolyn McAdams.

You can find the cast list and other information at:

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0091059/

I hope this has been of help to you.

Poseidon
