help finding a movie; Lady pregnant with an alien/unusual baby?

Hello all!

I watched this really weird 1970's or early 80's movie about this lady who started to believe her developing baby wasn't normal.

She was visited by this creepy doctor who seemed to know exactly what the baby was and who actually protecting it from the mothers suspicions.

Audio tapes were played to the baby to help its development and at one point the mother was looking at her belly and the baby made weird symbols appear on her stomach.

Err what else.....the film was American, and the lady was a brunette.
I'd say the film would be classified almost as a cult movie.

I've been looking for this movie for a little while and I've ruled out it being "The stranger within"....that's about all I've got. If anyone knows of this movie please let us know

Alas no; it's not Rosemary's baby either. I've searched high and low for this movie and I've had no luck lol. I might have to give up on it I thinks.

Was it "Alive"? Although that was just a mutation. There was another one though that I saw as a kid that was an alien. Now it is really bugging me that I can't think of the name of it, but I remember the cover of the movie, showing an alien. I hope someone can come up with it.
