Hi Everyone,
I hope someone can help. I used to rent the same movie weekend after weekend when I was younger. I loved this moive....but parents never thought to write down the title though. I've been trying to figure out the name of the movie for years. All I can remember is that the movie invoved both real actors and then became an animated cartoon. It started off with a boy who recived a large present, when he opened it, it was a huge car wash. He then recieved another present which was a toy sports car. The boy got into the car with his dog and drove through the car wash, turning into a cartoon by the other end and entering a different cartoon world....
Does this sound farmiliar to anyone....or did I imagine the whole thing!?! Please Help! Thanks.

its 'The Phantom Tollbooth'

except he met the dog 'tock' in the cartoon world, and it was a tollbooth he drove through, not a carwash.

its a great movie i love it.
