So, when I was a kid, in the 90's, I saw a cartoon movie on TV. I think it might have been from the 80s. Anyway, I've been looking for it for about ten years now. >_<;; It has some sort of land that was being turned kind of hellish by an evil character. One of the protagonists was thrown into a prison (with stone bricks, maybe in a castle...) by the evil character with the threat of being "sliced and diced" (almost exact wording) the next day or so. He(?) was dug out with some sort of toothy machine, rescued just in time by one ofthe other characters. The movie ended with the protagonists cureing the evil person. The land turned bright and happy again, and I think the evil person suddenly became good.

Yes, I realise this is vague, which is why I've been having so much trouble finding it. Please help? ;_; My strongest memory of the film was how disturbed I was by the concept of one of the characters being "sliced and diced." I kind of fixated on that, and forget everything else.
