Anyone know any horror movies that will freak you out so bad?

Hi, I love horror movies but I heard that the classics are the best. Can anyone tell me some that are extremely scary that will make you wanna hide under your bed? Lol. Thanks

I love older horror movies. I like ones that are more psychological those scare the heck out of me. I've found all the recent ones to rely on cheap scares or gore to fill in the plot or make up for the lack of a good build up or a real monster.

Though if you are looking for totally creepy I recommend the Night of the Living Dead. Man to this day that is the SCARIEST movie I have seen in my life. The newer version of Dawn of the Dead scared the heck out of me too. When I was kid Nightmare on Elm Street scared me beyond belief so that might scare the heck out of you too The original The Hills Have Eyes is pretty creepy (not the one that just came back go back to the 80's). The Thing is a great movie too.

If you want something that is totally random as a horror movie I'd recommend Dead Alive and the Evil Dead series as well as Army of Darkness. They are just awesome gore fests but in a offbeat way.

Get those night lights ready!

missa8324 agrees: Man, I totally forgot about how creepy The Thing was! STILL can't make it all the way through that one!
RubyPitbull agrees: I LOVED Army of Darkness. Laughed my butt off. Bruce Campbell was hilarious.

The reason I think The Exorcist is so scary, is that it could really happen.

To answer iAMfromHuntersBar, who asked "do you think horror movies effect you more as you get older?", it depends on the movie. When I was younger, I loved gore. I read Fangoria. I watched those movies for the splatter. Movies now, like Saw, Hostel, etc. are twisted as if it were real or that it could happen. These movies didn't have a happy ending where the bad guy dies and the virgin gets away. But to really answer this iAMfromHuntersBar and 900295, was the movie "It's Alive" I saw that movie when I was 4-5 years old. I was never right after that. I couldn't put my feet down from the bed or sofa. I had to leap away from the chairs and jump from the doorway onto the bed. I faced my fears in my late 20's - early 30's and laughed at myself. Of course, movie technology changed in three decades. Back then, that movie was frightening. I recommend that every horror buff see this movie. If the DVD has the original trailer, watch that first!

Wolf Creek is like a bizarre gore fest. Its an Eli Roth film so its like gore porn. Don't eat before watching is my only disclaimer.

Thanks for your answer!

When I was younger I was scared of the Marshmellow Man from Ghostbusters! I used to have really bad nightmares about him, so much so that my Dad had to explain that he was only a tiny model and it was all done with special effects! Lol!

Still scares me a little bit now to be honest!
