Need Any Movie Info - late 80's? Maybe HBO?

I'm looking for any information about a movie I remember from when I was much younger. I cannot for the life of me think of the actors/actresses, title, specific quotes, or anything else for that matter. It used to come on cable all the time so I thought it might even be an HBO movie, but I don't know for sure. All I can remember are some of the main scene/themes, so *ANY* info you might know would help me continue searching. (It's starting to get personal now haha) It's been years since I've seen this movie, and I want to see if I actually liked it or if it was because I had nothing better to watch at the time. It's driving me nuts not to be able to think of it. Help!!!

Things I remember:
I believe it was considered a comedy. A man in the corporate world (caucasian w/ dark curly hair) dies in one of the first scenes (think he gets hit by a car while walking in a big city?) and goes to a place while he awaits his trial to see if he can get on one of the buses that goes to heaven or if he will have to be reincarnated again. Everyone wears white here. He is appointed an angel attorney (wears a suit I believe, no wings or typical appearance). Everyone awaiting their trial is fully taken care of - their own room, food, music, etc. At dinner, they get a pie for each time they've been reincarnated and had to start all over again and he gets all freaked out because he has 9 or 13 or 26 or some other large number of pies and another person there only has 3 or so - this other person is a female (caucasian w/ dirty blond hair?) that he falls in love with in this afterlife waiting area. He's done a LOT of bad things that get replayed during the trial and tries to defend himself - they actually played movie clips of the person's life during the trials. They also get to see their past lives by going to a special building and entering a booth - she led lives with great accomplishments that I can't remember and one of his was being in a tribe and running form a wild animal. She's done not much at all wrong and gets to get on the bus to leave, but he's fallen in love with her. Even though he knows it practically means damnation, he jumps on the side of the bus/subway/train door and tells her how much he loves her and how he doesn't care what happens to him because he has to be with her or something to that affect. The lawyer shows the "live feed" to the judge while it's going on and the judge decides that the man has learned his lesson about selflessness and love and lets the door open so they can be together - and so the man can stop getting electrocuted by the white energy coming off the bus.

See, I remember lots of the movie, but nothing that's going to help me rent it lol - Thanks!

Thank you sooooooo much! That's exactly what I was looking for. I was younger than I thought when that movie was out.

(btw - that was my first question, so if I did the rating process incorrectly or need to "close" the question in some way, please let me know)
