what is the title of this movie

the movie im looking for is about a child and a "fairy conscience " and it has a BIG red devil with big black horns this movie also has a unicorn i think its dying because someone stole its horn i think the child puts it back at the end
its kind of like the never ending story fantasy movie i saw it around 1988 {
