| 80s animated film 3 tests princess pauper Hi All-
In the early- to mid-eighties I remember seeing an animated children's film about a king, a pauper, and a princess who the king ordered the pauper to capture. He captured her by setting traps such as one which was a tent he set up by the ocean with fruits in it. When she went in, he pulled a rope and the tent collapsed around her like a sack. I believe she was the daughter of the moon, and I think she had a beautiful singing voice.
In any case, when the pauper brought her back to the castle, she refused to marry the king. She ordered a series of 3 (?) tests that would determine who she would marry. Whoever could jump in 3 vats--I think one might have been freezing water, and I think the last was boiling oil--would be her suitor. Obviously, the pauper could do it and the king couldn't, so the princess and pauper lived happily ever after.
I would LOVE to find this movie. It had a large impact on me as a child. I think I remember the pauper wearing wooden shoes (maybe?), which makes me think it was some kind of Dutch tale... maybe even German? I don't know.
PLEASE HELP! It would mean so much to me!!
Thanks,
