I was watching a doco on nat geo on foxtel and I didn't watch it all but I remember seeing a bit about how hieoglyphs in egypt depict things that look almost exactly like helicopters and modern boats.
Anyone else seen these? I think they look pretty close to those things, its amazing.

Yes, there are also things on some of Egyptian walls that look like lightbulbs, etc. some of the photos in the book I am reading show ancient drawings that really look like people in space suits/helments/space vehicles. The perfect alignment of huge stone blocks used in ancient structures and the famous Olmec heads with African features in South America really make me wonder... Lotsa stuff like that remains unexplained and interesting to ponder.

cal823 - those go back to Daniken's "Chariots of the Gods" stuff. Those types of figures are in S & Central Am carvings as well. One depicts what looks like an astronaut ina capsule at take-off ('flames' all around).

People were just as smart and clever in ancient times as now. The only difference is that we stand on the shoulders of giants. I saw the show that you mentioned I thought comment about pyramids and calendars was silly. You give a group of 4 year olds a pile of blocks and at least one will build a pyramid. Or drop any person in the wilderness or someplace without a clock or calender they will start one the same day. Time is even woven into the cells of our body. When to wake, sleep or eat. When to plant or when to harvest are all tools that are ingrained in humans for thousands of years. UFO's have nothing to do with it.

But I'm not saying that UFO's don't exist. I always thought it was a crazy idea. Until my father, before he died, told me they are real. He was a radar specialist for the Air Force in Washington state and for NORAD in Colorado Springs. He told me that he used to scramble jets after them and he would track them doing right angle turns at unbelievable speeds. No jet could catch them. He wouldn't tell me any more no matter how much I bugged him about it.

I worked for both the Air Force and NASA and I can guarantee you that UFO's (at least some of them) are real. I have posted many times about this and my avatar is my ID badge from the Apollo XI mission, during which there was a UFO accompanying the capsule three days out from Earth.

I believe that many things were known to our ancestors and that includes science and medicine. If the Library of Alexandria in Egypt had not burned we would be amazed at what they knew.
