power of sale

Hi, do to the unfortunate death of my husband, the company i had my mortgage with told me to put a stop payment on all my mortgage payments because the insurance was going to cover it. To make a long story short they didnt. I had waited about 8 months to hear this and of course was 8 months behind on my mortgage payments and was unable to catch up. I was just served papers that my house was put into power of sale. Do you have any ideas on how i might be able to save my home??
