My mortgage

I have been trying for 2 years to lower my mortgage payments that keep rising higher and higher. I had to file to save my home from sheriffs sale. What can I do to keep my home?

Why haven't you been able to get a refinance?

I had to file bankrupcty last month just to save my home. We can't refinance because our credit got ruined after we purchased this home. We got so screwed on this mortgage as first time home buyers.

If you re-affirmed on the house in the Bankruptcy, you may be out of options.

If you just filed, what advice did your attorney give you regarding this mortgage?

Are you saying that even with the relief of bankruptcy on your other debts, you still won't be able to pay this mortgage?

If that is the case, I think you need to look at letting the house go and including the balance on your mortgage in the bankruptcy.

Other wise, you could end up with a discharged Bankruptcy, and still not be able to make the mortgage payment, and have no ability to stop garnishments and levy for this debt.

Again, I'd have to ask what kind of advice is your attorney giving you on this?
