Hello There,

When you say can "they" put a lien on you title, are you speakin gabout the mortgage company?

If so, then yes, any time you get a mortgage loan, it HAS to be secured against your title.. Think about it, they are lending you thousands of dollars to purchase a home with the intent that you will pay them back with interest..

The only way they can SECURE their investment is to be sure you will pay them back.. So, if for instance you and your husband cant make the payments, they will foreclose on your house..

Meaning, they will take your house from you being they have a lien on you title for the amount of the loan you took out...

This is the way that mortgage lending works.. No lender will lend you money without attaching a lien on your title for that money...

If you ahve additional questions, look at my profile.. Im a licensed mortgage loan officer and would be happy to assist you with your mortgage needs..

thanks, and good luck!
