lien against house
My ex husband did not make payments on an insurance claim against a car he had repaired before our marriage. I received possession of the house we jointly owned in our divorce settlement. Now I find there is a lien against the house and I can not refinance unless the lien is paid off. How can I get money from him to pay off the claim charges?

Sue him.

But its not true that you can't refinance. You just have to refinance for enough to pay off the lien. Then sue him for that amount.
