finding a mortgage holder

can someone tell me how to go about finding the bank that holds the mortgage for the house next door to me that was abandon? The house is filled with flies and there is an oder from inside. please let me knowif there is any help! we are in Charlotte, nc.

assuming there is a mortage,

you go to the county courthouse to the recorder of deeds from there you can see who has a mortage filed on the property,

Also the tax records will show who and at what address the tax bills are being sent.

If the abandonment of the house is causing a hazard in the neighborhood, you can contact the city or county to have it checked. Depending on the type of order, you might even call the police.
