Can someone who is self-employed and on Supplementary Security Income buy a home ?

Sure. A mortgage depends on income - there are also special programs out there for first time home buyers.

Check with different lenders.

yes, if they can find a mortage company that accepts this amount of income and if both of the people with income are going to sign the mortage.

And how much down payment will they have, will thier be able to make the payments, each case will be reviewed in detail
