bad credit mortgage

my credit rating is 674 and i have no income right now, my husbands credit rating is 488. he's had some c.c. troubles recently while we were separated. we're trying to get a mortgage loan, but they all are wanting 20% and then a refinance withn5 years. they go off of my husbands credit score since he has the income. is there any way i can get a 100% mortgage loan with little or no money down? we're currently in the process of fixing his credit, but we would really like to get settled into a home as soon as we could.

As to "fixing his credit", not much can help you there except 1) paying from now on as agreed 2) time.... only time can heal his credit plus paying as agreed from now on... please dont fall for schemes such as "we can repair your credit.. .etc. Without an income for you and with only his income, I think any mortgage company is going to base their decision on his credit, income and not yours.....

Under the circumstances you've described you're not going to get a mortgage without a substantial down payment. And, as you're finding out, you're going to pay astronomical interest rates.

First there is no legal way to "fix" your credit. If the items are real they can not be removed, in fact many states have laws against companies charging people to "fix" the credit.

You can challenge anything on your reports that are false and get those removed.

With such bad credit no, you will need some down payment to get a loan.

I would love to know who you found that was willing to give you the loan. My credit is better than your husbands, I have 20% to put down and was willing to pay extra in interest and couldn't find a single person willing to lend me less money than it takes to buy a nice car.
