updating video card

Hello

I have a 5 year old computer 2 Ghhtz. , with a S3, 64 meg AGP video card (my motherboard supports 4 x ), 1.5 Gig of Ram. I want to upgrade my current video card. The monitor is CRT 19" Princeton with only VGA connection supports up to 1600.

I am looking at this card here

Newegg.com - SAPPHIRE 100175L Radeon X1650PRO 512MB 128-bit GDDR2 AGP 4X/8X Video Card - Retail

and I read some reviews of purchasers, that it did not work at all, maybe was not designed for old motherboards... eventhough, the majority were happy with this card. I want to stay with this pc till the next Microsoft OS, not Vista...

Questions please -
1 Any compatibilities problems?
2 Any heat problems , as I have only one 80 mm. case fan?
3 Will it really improve my graphics? If yes, how? Or, is it an overkill?

I do not play games, (so far ) so this will be just to update for regular work and video watching.

Thank you, Gabe

If you dont play games look into nvidia cards with either 64 or 128 mb .....ones with a fan are better than without usually......I have an old compaq comp with a low profile nvidia card in it and not a problem.....
