screen resolution reduction

screen resolution reduction

I have this problem with two different Dell XPS laptops. Each time I start the screen defaults to a lower resolution. the only program that has been added is skype I get a sreen resolution warning and I can reset but the next time I open it drops back again. I am on Vista ultimate
