New computer, no signal to monitor

Hey guys, I just recieved a new PC that I ordered, when I connect it to my monitor I get no signal.

The computer I bought is this http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/343629...searchsource=0

The monitor is a HP w19.

All the cables are secure and connected, I get no post beeps, everything (fans, disk drive etc.) sounds like it's working, and the monitor works fine on my other computer.

With my other computer I have one slot for the white cable and one slightly smaller blue slot for the blue cable, on the new computer i have 2 of the white slots, but i got an adapter with the computer to connect the blue cable with so it fits.

Really confused as to what it could be and I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give.

Thanks

Are you connecting it using DivX or VGA?

Do you mean DVI? As that is how I am connecting the two.

Whoops, yeah I meant DVI. Are you sure your video adapter support DVI?

The adaptor is a 8800 gts, and it has a dual dvi slot/s.

I only have a normal dvi cable, should i go and buy a dual dvi cable? Could that be the problem?

I'm going to get a new cable today, if that doesn't work, I'll send the computer back and get a replacement sent.

Thanks for taking your time to answer this guys, I appreciate it.
