Monitor Turns off and on

Just lately I have been noticing that my monitor turns off and on several times. Everythings looks like the pictures and writing is smeared then comes back. It has been doing it a lot. I have ran my spyware and ad-aware. Everything comes up clean. I am not sure what to do about it. Sure would appreciate some help. I hope it doesn't go into a full blown crash.

I do hope someone can help with a specific troubleshoot for this, but I'll add a bit of less than technical info: Monitors do a variety of odd things when they are going bad. How old is it? It may be that this is it's on it's "last breaths".

Ah, this just recently happened to mine. I had to put it to rest and get a new one. Mine just sighed it's last breath of life two days ago.

Well I got it fixed. I had to take it in. Just can't be without my puter. Anyway. My graphics card was to close to something else and it was heating up. So the tech just moved my card down a slot to give it more air and that did the trick. Sheesh how easy was that. Well anyway. I want to thank you all for trying. How could I know that it was not my monitor. Even the tech said that it could be on its last leg also. But that was not the case here. Monitor is working fine.

Thanks everyone
