Moniter goes black at various intervals.

Hello Help Desk,

When I got a blue screen message over & over, some of my computer friends helped me find
out I had a:'mssync20.sys' trojan. They helped me quarantine it and I've gotten no more blue
screens, but the next day my monitor would start going black at various times. Sometimes it
stays on for hours and then goes black again, other times it stays on for a couple of seconds and then goes black. I can get it right back on by hitting the off switch and then hit it again to turn it back on. Also I can no longer go into 'safe mode' by hitting the F8 key. It shows me the menu for 'safe mode' but I can not get into it anymore.

Another friend thinks I have a remnant of that virus/trojan mssync20.sys and that I will
have to reformat. I don't like doing that unless I have to. Do you have any suggestions for
me, without doing a reformat.

Thanks for your help, boblove711
