| it looks like you did the proper steps to try and find something that maybe wrong with each device. with monitor, what happens when the yellow or amber light shows and then you use another monitor and it works, it would be something with the problem monitor - in crt monitors it is usually a bad capacitor in the monitor. Not really sure about the LCD side of things, but from what you have done, it indicates there is a problem with the lcd monitor itself and not drivers or video card.
Of course if under warranty, take it in.
When you hook monitors to pc's, you will not get new hardware found as windows itself will always use a default driver on startup to get the monitor to view, and if you have specialized drivers for your monitor, after a certain time during boot , windows will load that driver.
