modem stopped responding

my dial-up modem stopped responding even to power input. i then checked it and found that the fuse had blown up. i then replaced the fuse with one which has a similar rating as the blown one and it powered up. the problem is it now does not detect either the usb port or any ethernet cable i insert in the port. what could be the problem with it?? could something else have blown up along with the fuse?????
