help to identify a modem plug

I bought a new (used) dialup modem, but instead of the expected serial connector it has a plug I am not familiar with. It looks similar to a PS/2 mouse/keyboard plug but has 8 unevenly spaced pins. Any idea what it is? ???

EDIT: Turns out it is a proprietary Apple plug:-[
