First no, there is not another half, there is a man who I guess got your mother pregnant, if he was a real father, he would have been paying your mom child support and would have been calling and visiting.

For one, my mother made him leave. She didn't love him, but however he did fall in love with me. My mother cut off all ties with this man and didn't let him go anywhere near me.

So, that is the reason I am searching. I'm searching because I have a step father that hates me and a mother who doesn't care.

Im trying to find my father too. My mom cut him out of mine, my sisters and brothers life because he had a drinking problem. I want to find mine so that i can help him because he has a drinking problem and he is living on the streets right now and its really cold out. Saying this gently - if he had wanted to see you he would have gone to Court and stayed involved. Your mother did not have the power to keep him from going "anywhere near" you. Not at all.

How long has he been out of your life and how do you know "he did fall in love with you." Sounds like you're in a bad home situation and think finding your biological father is going to be the answer -

Sometimes some reality has to come into the picture - hopefully your father has been looking for you and will be delighted when you find him but that is not always the case.

And he's not the other half of you, not at all.

I guess I don't say things as "gentley" as Judy does,

But yes, your mom could not stop or make him stop seeing you, he could have taken her back to court, had her found in contempt and forced her to allow visits. So I often worry since sometimes we build up this real idea of what and who we want to find. You may indeed find a loving person but you may also find someone who tells you to beat it and is not happy you found them.

I understand and hope you find him since that is what you want to do, but just do it with some honest ideas of what you may find.
