From things I have witnessed in school, even at the elementary/primary level, I wouldn't mind uniforms at all.

Trust me, kids will show their individuality very well regardless of their clothing....in their attitudes, performance, and in their behaviour.

uniforms arent that bad. you can allways change your hair style or even wear odd color socks. they souldn't yell at you for wat you are doing wth your hair or the socks.theres other ways of showing your personality other than showing your cloth stye.

Having school uniforms is a bad thing, in most schools they say that kids are allowed to express themselves right, right, well how would having a uniform allow them to express how they feel that day and who they are? Well it wouldn't allow them to do so now would it? No. My High school has been back and forth on the whole uniform thing just because students are wearing hoodies and jackets, wow now come on I'd say that its just plain retarded to switch to uniforms just because of hoodies and jackets. But, switching to uniforms do have their ups and downs, I mean you could be taking away the kids freedom of expressing who they are and what kinda *group* they're in. How is everybody dressing the same being different? How? now I know I'll get some answer like *well they're still acting all different in the same clothes* no, acting differently and dressing alike is not the same thing. Expressing your feelings is showing how you dress and what kind of music, things, etc. you like to do and you have an interest in.

Whatever you wear, underneath it, you're stark naked.

So does being poor. How much do your parents spend on clothes for you to express yourself? Wouldn't you rather they saved that money so that you could go to college without getting into debt? Do the math. If you had to buy all of your own clothes and shoes, how much would you need to earn each month? How many minimum-wage hours would you have to work?

my parents dont buy my clothes even though we have money, i have a job and i buy my own clothes and shoes. Plus my fathers retired from the army so they pay for everything except for room and board. btw my mother cant work b/c she has medical problems and my dad works for the government. where do you get off asking how much my parents spend on clothes for me, well here ill tell ya, the most they spend well my dad spends is roughly around 2-$300 b/c my clothes are not cheap. also I've held a job since I was 14 so i dont need a lecture on math and minimum-wage jobs, i make way over minimum-wage so there for i work for a living plus i go to school, im not like most teenagers and get money from my parents. I actually work for my money, plus i drive a nice car too that my father gave me. But heres the thing, im not an only child, i have brothers and a sister. So yea ok i may be an army brat wow like thats gonna hurt me, i dont care honestly. But ok ok so what if i drive a nice car wear nice clothes, that doesnt mean i express myself with that stuff. i express myself in many other different ways other than just my clothes and car. I have responsibilities, ive held the same job for 3-4years now, i pay for my own stuff, i pay for my own gas, cell phone bill, and im only 17.

You just got done whinging about uniforms not allowing kids to express themselves with what they wear but now you have just said that you express yourself in many different ways other than just your clothes and car so obviously what you wear is not necessary for self expression. Uniforms would only be at school anyway, so for those who have the desire to express themselves through their own style, they would still have that opportunity when they are out with friends and on their own time.
Not sure why being an army brat comes into it, or that you drive a nice car, etc.. That is irrelavent.
Great that you buy your own clothes....it is tremendous that you are in a position to be able to do that, as well as take care of some of your other costs.....but many kids don't or can't. For the majority, it probably would make a difference in costs and in how they are looked at by others. I see it already at the elementary school level.
