1) Mean - having a value intermediate between the values of other quantities.
Ex. A mean diameter.
2) Median - the middle number of a series. If the sequence has an even number of values, the median is the average of the two middle values. (Examples the median of 1, 3, 4, 8, 9 is 4. The median of 1, 3, 4, 8, 9, 10 is 6.
Based only on the above definitions.

Timmy has 180 marbles, some plain and some colored IF there are 32 more plain marbles than colored marbles, how many colored marbles does he have?

Let x be the number of coloured marbles.

Then, the number of plain marbles is x + 32.

The sum of those two gives 180, that is:

X + (x + 32) = 180

Find x.
