You would divide the total profit he wants to get \$400. With the profit of each sandwich.

Or you could multiply the profit of a sandwich until you get \$400.
Example: \$3.85 x 20 sandwiches = \$77.00

\$77.00 divided by 20 =\$3.85

This is what you need to do -

Profit from selling 1 sandwich = \$3.85
Total Profit Required = \$400
Therefore No. Of sandiches need to be sold = 400/3.85 = 103.896
However, since he cannot sell a fraction of a sandwich, he will need to sell 104 sandwiches to make \$400 or more.

You do 400/3.85 b.c= there is a 3.85 profit and you need \$400. So you divide the 400 by 3.85 to see how many you need.
