Perhaps you can try a test that has been done a couple times. Can poll takers be mislead? Try to get people to sign a petition against Dihydrogen Oxide (water/h20) stating all the horrible things it does (its in most chemicals, when at hot temperatures it can cause massive burns, etc) Its Psychology, so it might not be a volcano experiment, but its definately interesting to see how many signatures you get. Hope this helps.

Well, maybe you can build a computer. There are tips online that give you step by step information on doing so. It would cost some money so.. you should try out my other ideas.

Build a small rocket. Tips online to do so.

Ooh, if the school would let you do something that really isn't building anything, take a picture of yourself everyday to see how you grow and everything and put the pics all together, or make a home movie with friends.

Not really sure this helped but if it does, I'll be happy to know I helped.
