wanting stories from happy people

Hi all,

Just wondering if there's anyone online who feels like sharing a story about anything good that's happened to them recently. Anything at all - funny, cute or just plain nice. What good things are happening in the world at the moment?

Kal

Altenweg,
I'm a little more worried about the second part of your signature. :P Sounds painful! Remind me to thank my mother the next time I see her!

I love it when people can make light of their lives and laugh at themselves. If you can't laugh at yourself, who can you laugh at?

Believe me I do laugh at everyone else, as well as myself. Although I do have to say that sometimes I feel the irresistible urge to tell people exactly how silly they are and why I'm laughing. I do get allot of laughs on this site, some people are just to funny.

As for the birth part, make sure you buy your mom a huge bouquet of flowers the next time you see her. I had both my kids naturally, no drugs, nothing, let's just say that it didn't tickle, and I make sure that they know it. Guilt works, although I will admit that I tend to exaggerate to them about how bad it really was. If you tell them I'll deny everything.

Hahaha.
Yeah... I watched my sister being born when I was 10 years old. Watching my mum was... really stressful. But apart from that, it's my most important memory.

I'll buy her chocolates, she'll prefer those.

Still, giving birth obviously wasn't bad enough to stop you from doing it a second time!

Giving birth is strange. Once you've done it you know how much it hurts, and boy does it hurt, you swear that once that baby is out you'll never let your husband near you again. You would like to rip the doctors throat out if he says one more time "We're almost their Mrs. Altenweg" and ten more minutes go by with nothing. But somehow, as soon as your holding that baby in your arms you forget all that and decide right then and there that you will have another. The mind is an amazing thing, it lets us forget.

Having said that, get an epidural when you have your first child, I hear they're really great. And never let a day pass that they don't realize the gigantic sacrifice it was to give birth, then one day you'll get your own box of chocolates. Great, now I'm craving chocolate.

I like this! I've been in such a 'mood' lately, and I guess sometimes you really do have to think of all the small things! After all, if you bunch them all up into one big ball, and roll them down a hill, they might hit somone who ticked you off that day, lol

Okay, I'm going to try the list...here goes!

1. The skunks left my dog alone lastnite, phhhewww!
2. It was a beautiful sunny day yesterday and it melted all the ice on my sidewalk,so I
don't slip and fall again.
3. The Chinese restaurant returned my money for the bad food, hehe
4. When I was sick, my best friend of 25yrs called to ask if she could do errands for me
5. I got a very nice compliment on my new hairstyle from a total stranger at the store
6. I finally got to meet my new niece who's already a yr and a half
7. My neighbor fixed my gate
8. I heard from an old friend who now has a wife and new baby
9. My mom called from Florida to ask what she can bring me back home, yeay presents!
10. My dog finally learned what "wink at me" means and does it now. So cute!

All good stuff

Love it. No one has ticked me off so far today, but it's only 8am here so give it time.
