Something wrong

Starting the beginning of this year I have been having major mood swings. It takes me at least two hours of laying doing nothing to fall asleep and once I do I sometimes wake up and just stare at the wall or something pointless like so. Sometimes I am depressed and starve myself or catch myself scraping and burning my hands for no reason. But if I am not doing that I am really excited about nothing really at all. Like yesterday I killed a snake ( for fun)and almost jumped onto a moving car.people are really getting worried about me thinking I am a suicidal But I am not!Or am I just going hormone wild By the way I am 14 year old girl

This sounds very similar to bi-polar depression, which is characterised by unexplainable lows and highs. Its easy to treat and there is a wide array of medications that are very effective-- should it turn out to be that. At any rate, this is something to DEFINATELY run by your doctor asap. Tell him just as you have here-- that was a very good, straightforward description. Hormones do a lot of crazy things to us both in adolescence and then in the later years too, but what you describe hits me as beyond that. Please keep us posted, Justme, and welcome to AMHD too.
