| | | Need passion, need a hobby I really do wish I had some hobbies but I've never become enthralled in something. Ever since I was young I just wasted my spare time with video games
Its a bit sad really, there isn't anything I'm really passionate about. I just go out and drink beer and see mates in the meantime. I don't do any sport, don't do anything creative, don't do any kind of psychical activity, don't play music, just don't do anything.
It's sad, and I really need to get something going in my life.
The question is though, how do you when you're not interested in anything? I'd like to start some kind of physical activity but I hate embarrassing myself because I'm a bit goofy and uncoordinated and a bit slow when it comes to learning....
Does anyone have any advice what someone like me can look into doing and how to go about doing it?
I wouldn't mind being able to
I suppose I'm asking...How do you become passionate about something? How do you obtain a passion? | | | | | | |

| okay...all i gotta say is....passion..comes from your heart.
i would first try meditation....think about things you would try.
go on andverture that you do crazy things, like swinning on a tire, or jump in the water like
you never touch water.
or do wat my sister does.......breath calmly, in and out, dont hold back your breath!!
hope it works out gooooood!! |

| This isn't an easy suggestion but I would try on anything and everything. What you don't enjoy, don't do again. I wonder though....this isn't you holding you back out of a sense of needing to be perfect, is it? Because if it is, then I would advise that you delibertately go make a bunch of mistakes, not ones with permenant consequences, LOL just, well, goof something up on purpose and get over that stifling perfection while you do! Yell "I am flawed, I am flawed, I am flawed just like everyone else is!" while you do it, LOL. Very liberating! |

| I know how you feel.
Sometimes its even for the simple reason of small talk at a party or a job interview "So tell me what are your interests/hobbies" (crickets)
I believe passion for something is actually obtainable, It might sound silly but if you do something again and again and then some more you can start to really enjoy it and miss it when your not doing it.
Ive been looking for a hobby for ages. And well, to be honest knitting, karate, upholstery, yoga and soccer just aren't my forte.
I think you should embrace the things you love such as video games and if anyone asks, tell them your a snake charmer (you better read up on snake tamers as there might be follow up questions)
If all else fails, go bowling - its a sport but you dont need to be that co-ordinated.
Good Luck! |

| I am in somewhat of the same boat as you. I mean, I have hobbies, like I LOVE to play softball and swim and do watersports, but those are spring/summer things and in the winter I just feel bored, and boring, a lot of the time. And, as Coffee said, I think it makes me feel worse because I feel like I don't have anything to say, like when I talk to people on the phone. When it gets cold, it gets depressing and you feel like watching tv is a waste of time and that you should be doing something productive, or at least something that you enjoy doing, but it really does close a lot of doors...well, those outdoor doors.
As for finding a passion, whose to say that video games aren't your passion? Yes, you may feel like it's something dorky, but not everyone has the same tastes, and there's nothing wrong with that. If you like video games, maybe you're into the fantasty genre or something, where there's lots of swords and stuff, I don't know. If you are, then maybe try on Renaissance Faires or go to conventions. Take spin-offs of things that you already like. It doesn't matter what you do, just make sure that you love doing it. It's your life, do what you will with it. |

| You have a passion! BEER and your mates. Get more into your friends, who they are what they love. Listen when they talk and drink your beer and write about the things you observe while you out talking to people and haveing a beer. You can write an entire book of thoughts about the people you know and how they think. Studying people and drinking beer is not a bad passion at all. |

| In order to maintain a passion you have to find a passion.Try different things out and see what works for you.Don't be embarrassed or self conscious.
What sounds interesting? Even helping out via community service can be beneficial.I don't know if you are located in the US or not but there are programs such s big brothers big sisters which is a youth mentoring organization.Or helping a little old lady can be rewarding..don't knock it til you try it! |
