There will be certain things that you are better at than others. Example J-9 is a medical genius. And so on, you will find your nitch, just remember to be diplomatic, with your answer.
I agree with the many other good posts, find your niche, it will come to you.
Though there is also another good saying, "Opinions are like a$$holes, every has one and they all stink." Not everyone will find a particular fragrance appealing, but that shouldn't stop you from sending it out on the breeze, if you feel so inclined. Speak what you feel -- some will agree with you, some won't. Diversity is what makes life truly interesting, particularly when it comes to opinions.
It sounds as if you are talkingabout developing insight am I right?
Here are my suggestions:
READ READ READ (as said above) Reading books about just about anything, especially novels, people, history, philosophy gives such an incredible amount of insight over many years. Very rewarding and one of the things that makes life worth living for me. Read about people's lives.
Always think about what it must be like to be another person. Try and put yourself in their shoes (situation, life, experience)and imagine what it must belike to be them. This is one of the things that makes people insightful. Some people are very bad at doing this and we could all do it more.
Dont be judgmental about others, their lives, their choices, their mistakes. WE ALL HAVE MORE IN COMMON AS HUMANS THAN DIFFERENCES.
Be open minded.
Make it your life'spurpose to try and understand human nature.
Realise that we all automatically assume a lot of things to be the undeniable truth. Whereas many of these things (ideas, institutions, explanations, goals, societal norms, political systems, schools of thought ) are actually human-made (Human constructs) and therefore cannot be separated from human nature (includes flaws like selfishness) and cannot and should not be revered/respected blindly without questioning.
Respect logic and education and knowledge. Realise the limitations of emotion, faith and human nature and the human brain. I dont want to offendanyone here this is just my personal opinion and what has helped me to understand the world.
Try and understand philosophy.
Respect intuition realise its role in our lives.
Listen to people who know more about things (anything:especially people that are knowledgeable in a certain areaorwho have life experience) than you do.
Ask questions. Be inquisitive. Ask Why. Crave to find out about how things work? Why things are the way they are? Why people do the things they do etc. Theer are many questionsto be asked of the world.
