Hi, sarahmor101!

Yes. You will find sympathy and people to discuss your issues with here. Thank you for sharing. I don't know what your beliefs are, but I find much comfort in prayer and letting God show me the way that I need to go in my life.

Also, I do think that you beating yourself up yourself some here. You can change those "scars into stars" if you work at it. You have choices to make as to the things that you are going to say and do. We can't control the way that others think, but we can give influence their thinking by the things that we say and do. If a person already thinks very negatively about themselves, how do you think that is going to influence how others think and act? Truly, we can set ourselves up for failure by the way that we think and by the things that we do.

I know that there is so much more and deeper things that need to be discussed concerning your issue, and just one answer from me isn't going to be enough. Please just keep sharing. Others will try to help you here. But, you need to be open to the answers that you are going to receive. Some of the answers you may love. And, others you might not like at all, because there is truth to the saying that "the best mirror is a friend's eye." I have a friend who really lets me have it at times when my thinking or the ways that I am doing things is counterproductive for my life.

I know that others are going to come along and want to help also.

It would be nice to hear more from you. Thank you.

I can totally sympathise.
I had problems with antidepressants not working after taking them for many years.
I went all natural and got off the prescriptions.
I started exercising and forced myself to do fun stuff with my kids.
I joined a positive thinking support group, read the book Your Best Life Now by Joel Olsteen, and the book The Secret by Rhonda Byrne.
6 months into my new lifestyle, I began to be happy again.

When I was feeling down and worthless,
I'd take my kids to the park and watch them play, or read them a story,
or dance around the living room with them on my hip.

Anything to get some laughs out of them.
Knowing that my children enjoyed time spent with me and all their hugs and kisses and laughter made me feel good inside.
They gave me a reason to believe that I wasn't worthless and were my inspiration to get better.

It wasn't always that way though.
When I was sick with depression, I showed no enthusiasm about anything,
my children picked up on my moods and it reflected in the way they treated me.

I got better and I know you can too, you just have to believe that you will and find some inspiration to help you along.
