feeling depressed

Hi, i have a problem that ive been dealing with for about 2-3 years. I am always worrying about things from the past and future and I have trouble enjoying things. Sometimes i just feel like getting away from everything and just keep thinking about everything. I tend to replay events over and over again in my head and try to get meanings from them for events that happened earlier. I also get negative thoughts in almost every situation and i feel like i dont know whats real anymore. Ive been doing some research and i feel like i am depressed. does anyone know how i can get out of it. do i have to go back into the past and find out why i got depressed or do i make changes now? and what other things should i do?

Sounds like you really need to see a doctor and get on anti-depression medication. They can make you feel real good!

Are you religious at all? Do you have a few friends with whom you could discuss how you feel?

You CAN make changes now if you want to. But the thing is You may think you want to, but you really do not and maybe that is what is keeping you being depressed. Do something fun and spontaneous, plan an unexpected trip to the beach or out of the country, anywhere you want to go or dreamed of going. Just pack a bag and go, go with friends or family. Remember, you are not alone in this department, everyone thinks of things that have happened in the past and all the "what ifs" I do it all the time! I worry about the future all the time, I think everyone does, some more than others. Lately I have been extremely depressed due to an issue that is happening in my life, but I have been trying to remember my family and friends are there for me, they will not let anything bad happen to me, I have my health, I have my life, I shouldn't be worried, and only live one day at a time instead of worrying about the future. Did you think of maybe finding someone to talk to about this? Psychiatrist, close friend or family member. Sometimes just talking about what is on your mind a lot helps. It helps me. It helps hearing other peoples opinions too. I'm probably not much help but good luck and I hope everything goes great for you!

Do you have any hobbies? Why dont you start taking a class? When my mom was depressed she started taking classes like belly dancing, pottery, cooking, things like that. It gives you the chance to meet new people and experience new things.
