does anyone have any idea what proportion of people attending their family doctor would have ever had any experience of hypnosis?

Tough question. Don't know that there have ever been any statistics compiled concerning what you are asking. Did a search for it and came up with nothing of value.

I would daresay that it would be a moderate proportion but I cannot find any stats on what you are asking. The experience with hypnosis could mean seeing a professional hypnotist to reading a book on self hypnosis.
