Depression

I have recently been dumped by my longterm partner and have been seriously depressed since. I cannot manage to eat hardly anything, I'm tetchy, irritable, have difficulty sleeping, have nightmares when I do sleep, can't get up in the morning, and I have times when I can only cry, I usually end up crying myself to sleep at night. I have no energy or motivation to do anything even if I actually want to.

What can I do? Telling me to get over it won't help, I still love this man totally and want him back, it's not something I or anyone I know can change. It's tearing me apart and I don't know how much longer I can stand it.

Re: Depression

You need to go and see a doctor for depression and they are likely to pass you onto a counsiller to help sort this out.

Re: Depression

Seeking the help of a Mental Health Clinic should be your first consideration of course.  However because you are so severely depressed you may not make that choice.  One of the real issues with your depression is that you are not standing on your own ground and being yourself.  In relationships you may have a tendency to abandon your own personality thereby allowing the relationship itself to become your personality  at the expense of your true Identity!  At this point you need to put the relationship aside until you get a grip on yourself and regain control over your emotions.  Put your life back into perspective.  Look back and see if there was a time that you lost a great deal of Self Esteem which you tried to replace with the notion that as long as you were involved in a romantic relationship then you were ok.  But once the relationship expires your self esteem becomes null and void leaving you in a sad state of depression.  You must understand that it is Self Esteem that drives us forward in life and furthermore it is something that  people can easily detect in others.  You are not just a relationship, but a person.  Find that person again and let her develop into something wonderful.  Get some support from a counseling agency! There you will meet other people that have or have had similar situations and can become a great support group for you. I urge you!!! Don't go it alone!!!  Please feel free to write in!

Re: Depression

Hi Depression is a serious situation to deal with. If not treated it can cause all kinds of health problems. Look into the mirror smile ;D and see how beautiful you truly are. I have told my friend for years never put your trust and feeling into a person 100 percent cause if it does not work out depression is what u get. You have to realize you have a purpose in life and you need to stand on your own two feet. While your down and out your ex is enjoying life. Do not give him the satisfaction of putting you down for his own gain. Remember he ended the relationship it his lost and this should make u a stronger person. Focus on you and the sun will shine tomorrow good luck take care.
