Vein like lump on my penis?

I have a lump on the top side of my penis (other side of the shaft), it is roughly in the center and to the back end, and can be seen beginning near my pubes. It feels the same as a vein, however it is much larger, and I cannot directly see it. It is about an inch long when my penis is non erect. When it is erect, or the blood in my penis is restricted it lengthens greatly and is very visible. Also there are small white bits around the bottom of my penis head. I don't know much about this part of the body...

I am eighteen years old and had these for at least three years now, I masturbate regularly and I am a virgin. Any information would be apprectiated.

If you are practicing masturbation you have to be very careful that in the heat of excitement you don't seriously injure yourself. Could that vein be injured because of subjecting your penis to unnatural stress--such as a vacuum pump?

I have read about some men who have developed priapism after using rubber band like attachments at the base of the penis in order to stifle blood flow and make the erection harder. Once the compartments which hold the penis blood are damaged, the penis stays damaged. So I seriously suggest you avoid anything that causes you even the slightest discomfort.

Better safe than sorry for a lifetime later.

The white pimple-like things you mention might be caused by poor hygiene.
Especially if the male isn't circumcised. In any case, see your urologist as soon as possible.

BTW
The natural upward angle of entry is in accord with the male erection. But if the angle of entry is forced into a horizontal one then damage to the penis can occur.

Of course every man has a dorsal vein on his penis. But this fellow describes his as being somehow different from the usual vein and seems to be linking it's sudden abnormal appearance to the lump on the other side. Therefore I asked if he was subjecting the penis to any unusual circulatory stress. If we read carefully before giving knee jerk answers we avoid reaching conclusions that assume that the person isn't familiar with his own exterior anatomy--especially when he's lived with his own exterior anatomy all his life.
