If this is a continuing problem, then, horrors of horrors, you will have to see a doctor to get that infection cleared up. It could be many things, probably could be cleaned up with a good scrubbing with antibacterial soap.

It does sound as though it is an infection as Tickle said, however, with the rise in MRSA (Methacillin Resistance Staph Aureus) it would probably be in your best interest to have it checked out by your healthcare provider.

tickle agrees: I am glad you mentioned MRSA, seems like every time one of my elderly clients goes in hospital, they come out with MRSA

MRSA is on the rise Tickle. It used to be seen primarily in hospital patients like you mention, but it is now rampant even outside of hospitals. I had it 3 years ago and was never in the hospital. My son (5 years old) had it two weeks ago in his index finger, he got it at school.

Another thing that caught my eye as that you say there is yellow stuff that smells disgusting. This could possibly be Pseudamonas, which is another bad bacterial infection.

These are very serious conditions and this is why I beleive it may be in your best interest to get it checked out.

Yes hair does cause this problem but do you have health issues, if you answer is yes then your immune system being down can also cause this. Get your doctor to give you a round of strong antibiotics and this will clear it up for now. Each time it comes up you will need more antibiotics. Hope this helps.
