Hi, I've searched the 'Net and found a lot of answers about what this is NOT.

Today after masturbating, I noticed that there was a large, somewhat soft lump on the bottom right side of my penis just below the glans. It has never been there before. There was no coloration. When flaccid it is marked by just a bit more skin than normal, maybe, like it is stretched out a bit.

I'm worried this could be some kind of rupture or damage inflicted by too hard or too much masturbation. Does anyone know 1) what causes it 2) whether it is permanent and 3) whether anything can be done?

Thanks in advance for your help. I've been quite concerned and it's too late today to talk to a doctor.

This may be nothing more than a sebaceous cyst (oil trapped under the skin near a pore).

You already know that it will take a doctor to get a correct diagnosis. I would suggest making an appointment with a urologist in the morning.

It's not a cyst. It's a large irregular lump when erect and nonexistent when flaccid. It looks somewhat like what happens when a blood vessel is broken under the skin, but there is no discoloration.

I'm not sure how I'll get to the doctor because I have to go through the student health services and it's notoriously hard to see a specialist. I'm certainly going to try but I was hoping to hear from someone who had experienced or seen this before.

I only noticed it because I felt the "lump" after ejaculating with my hand. It is vaguely sore (just a faint twinge or ache now and then) but otherwise I wouldn't know there was any issue. I'm afraid to get erect again but equally afraid it won't work right now!
