burning pain

hi, for about 6 months now i have been experiencing a burning pain after urination and after ejaculation. It used to be quite frequent so i went to see my GP who gave me a 7 day course of cefalexin antibiotics which had no effect at all. He then sent me to an urologist who performed a cystoscopy procedure on me to look inside my bladder, again nothing was found. I was then put on a course of Co-amoxiclav for a week but still the systoms persist.
The symptoms are not as bad now as they used to be and as i am only 16 years old and not sexually active, i cannon figure out what is causing the symptoms.
Sometimes i dont get symptoms for weeks on end then all of a sudden i get the symptoms which are burning after urination and ejaculation, white/cloudy urine and also a strange twitching sensation under my scrotum which may or may not be related.
Can anyone please tell me what they think this all could be??

First more questions:
1) Is the burning at the meatus (opening at the tip of your penis) or does it feel as if it is coming from the bladder?
2) Is your urination and ejaculation otherwise normal?
3) Does the white/cloudy urine occur all the time or just soon after ejaculation?

Hi, Thanks for your response.
The burning seems to be just in my urethra itself and my urination is otherwise normal. The flow is still normal and i have not have an increased urge to urinate.
The white cloudy urine accures every so often, not everytime i urinate and it is usually worse soon after ejeculation.
I hope this helps you to answer my question.

Well, I think your symptoms warrant a repeat visit to the Urologist. Did he/she do a proper prostate exam (the one finger salute)? A chronic prostate infection could be the cause of both symptoms as an infection could cause the cloudy urine and predispose to urethritis. Short courses of antibiotics may not eradicate a prostate infection. A chlamydial infection could also cause your symptoms. This would not have been treated by your first course of antibiotics. The second round of antibiotics may have and some effect, but would not be my first choice for chlamydia. Finally, the cloudy urine, if not an infection, may be indicative of retrograde ejaculation - especially if you find that your ejaculate is fairly minimal. Further questions - 1) are you circumcised? 2) do you have any discharge? 3) if so, is it clear, cloudy, purulent, etc.? 4) was a urine culture obtained?

Hi,
I am not sexually active so i dont think that chlamydia will be the cause.
I am not circumcised, sometimes i get a tiny little bit of clear thick discharge but extremely rarely.
A urine culture was not obtained from the urologist.
It is very confusing because the symptoms sometimes dont happen for weeks in a row then all of a sudden i get them.

I'm still leaning in favor of chronic prostatitis. The symptoms of chronic prostatitis usually involve some pain or change in urination, but do certainly account for the symptoms that you have. The symptoms of chronic prostatitis can also wax and wane. Also, a six week course of antibiotics is usually needed to eradicate a chronic infection. Go back to your GP and have him/her do a prostate exam and obtain a urine culture.

In my opinion, it sounds more like a recurring urinary tract infection. Do you drink a lot of soda or carbonated/caffeinated drinks? Not all people can be cured with antibiotics for tract infections. A lot of people just have to get through it until its over. I am one of them. My suggestion would be to go to your local general store or drug store and buy you some AZO pills and some cranberry juice. This will flush out your system. Also if you drink a lot of carbonated beverages...STOP. Start drinking water and juices instead. Good luck.

This May Sound Silly To You, But It Could Be As Simple As Over Washing Your Penis. If You Get Soap Inside Of Your Shaft, It Will Burn After Urination And Ejac For Hours Or Sometimes A Day Or So.
As A Medical Lab Tech, I Can Tell You Quite Positively That If You Are Not Sexually Active, It Is Not Chlamydia Which Is Quite Common In My Area. Most Patients Do Not Experience Any Discomfort With This Std Unless It Is Really Bad. Again, Watch The Soap. Do You Masterbate In The Shower And Do You Use Soap As A Lube. That Could Be Your Problem.
