I recently started having problems getting an erection. I'm a 31 year old healthy male who runs and lifts weights, and not on any kind of medication. I recently had my testosterone and estrogen levels checked. The lab results showed my testosterone serum levels to be at 389 ng/dl and free testerone at 10.8 pg/ml. Reference intervals were 241-827 and 8.7-25.1. My estradiol (estrogen) level was at 46 pg/ml with ref interval of 0-53 for adult males. Do I have a hormonal imbalance, and is this causing my erectile dysfunction? I have also noticed a loss in libido and some lack of penil sensitivity to touch. My morning erections are less frequent too.. from waking up with a morning erection every day to maybe waking up with one once or twice per week.

Is my ED being caused by a physical problem or psyscological because I feel I am still too young to be having these issues just yet. The last 4-5 times I had sex I couldn't get it up.
I have an appointment with my doctor next week to discuss my lab results. But if you can offer some insight I would really appreciate it as it's really frustrating not knowing what is wrong with me.

I also have started taking ZINC supplements (50mg per day) hoping that it will help jump-start my sex drive again.

I recently went through the same thing. I am 71. It appears that my problem was caused by too much fluroide. I had been using rx toothpaste for gum line cavities, and our water has it. I stopped using the toothpaste and have been drinking distilled water. My problem seems to be over.

It can be the low testosterone level. Can't be the age. There are 21 year olds out there who already have ED. In my case, my doctor told me that this problem of getting an erection is caused by my diabetes. I’m only 35 and well, sexually active. I was given the choice of trying either cialis or viagra to try to correct this. My question now is which one is effective? Any info?

Diabetes is one of the causes of erectile dysfunction. Your doctor is right on that. Ask your doctor further which one will be more effective or which will not have a complication with your current medications.
