heated up balls

kind of a random question:

What kind of damage is possible if your balls remain at a higher than normal temperature for too long. I often sit with my laptop directly on my lap for extended periods of time. I'm wearing clothes at the time but afterwards I can feel that my balls are pretty heated from the bottom of the computer. I'm a 21 year old guy and not really worried about going sterile and not being able to reproduce but more worried if there's a possibility of cancer or anything like that? Thanks for any advice.
