Few/limp erections at 21 yrs

Hi. I am 21 yrs old. I have a huge problem. For the past 2-3 years or so I have not been getting the same strong and frequent erections that I was getting when I was 15-16. I used to get erections all the time while just sitting in class, now it has been years since I got a spontaneous erection. Also, when i masturbate, my erections are weak and go down immediately if I let go. I started masturbating when I was 14 and did so about once or twice a day for maybe 3-4 years then slowed it down to about once every 1-2 days over the last couple of years. I used to masturbate in bed using a blanket between my hand and penis so Im thinking maybe the lack of a lubricant was too rough for my penis to handle and has damaged it in some way. My girlfriend and I are going to be getting active fairly soon so I want to solve this problem as quick as possible. I am willing to do about anything to solve this problem. I have masturbated only once in the past three weeks. If I stop masturbating will my penis' functions return to normal over time? If so how long? I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions that can help me. Thank you very much
