Multiple flashing 'Command Prompt' taskbar Icons on Vista.
My Acer,Windows,Vista laptop has suddenly developed a 'Command Prompt' problem.
After startup when startup programs load, multiple flashing command prompt icons appear on the taskbar until there so many they block the taskbar.
The Task Manager, 'Applications' shows scores of command prompt applications and 'Processes' shows multiple 'consent.exe' processes.
A system restore seemed to have corrected the problem but it returned after the next full close down and startup.
The accumulating processes buildup and the computer becomes slower and actions are temporarily frozen.
I have even tried the very time consuming exercise of ending each individual 'command prompt' task via the Task Manager.the result was that the computer then worked perfectly... only until the next full close down and startup.
