Bugs in the sockets, maybe.

With minimal mechanical apptitude you could replace sockets on the fixtures. High wattage bulbs over time probably killed the sockets. Make sure the lamp is unplugged while working on it.

Nope. It's two different animals.

Yes. Clock could be 120 volts, pool motor 240, and partial loss of voltage to the clock.

Installed on new computer 10 months ago. Computer died, got new hard-drive installed.

Yes. Cut sheetrock hole the size of pancake box. Use a fan-rated "pancake box" and screw it securely to the beam with the screws that come with the box.

Try using a lower wattage bulb, trapped heat kills bulbs.
Maintenance contracts are a good deal for the one writing the contract.

If there is no specific appliance attached to the plugs, they would be considered 1.5 amps each. Using 12 gauge wire, it is technically too many plugs on a circuit because you can't design it at...

Half the plug is on a switch, half is hot all the time. There is a tiny metal tab between the two screws on the hot side that can be removed with needle nose. Then the red on one screw, black on...

You get in trouble with inspectors and the manufacturer by exceeding the nameplate max.
You could use #10 on a 30 amp breaker unless it's a "long" run from panel.

Why does everyone look for the complex answer. All manufacturers make cheap ones and good ones.
Go to a light bulb store, and ask for 130 VOLT. Any WATTAGE. The stores sell 120 volt, the cheap...
