LocationNorth Carolina ExperienceI'm a scientist doing advanced research and development in the areas microwave and radio frequency (RF) acoustics and acousto-electric devices (such as RF filters and duplexers), along with mechanical and electromagnetic modeling of RF devices and circuits. Most of this work is used in the development of advanced radio architectures for cell phones. The acoustic part, by the way, has nothing to do with voice or ring-tones or any of the other stuff you hear coming out of your phone. The acoustic devices I design operate at frequencies 100,000 times higher than what your ears can hear, and are integral to your phone's ability to transmit and receive radio signals.
I also have a decade of experience in using microwave acoustic devices to sense a variety of chemical and biological measurands, from industrial pollutants to chemical and biological warfare agents.
The demands of this multidisciplinary research make me a de facto expert in math, physics, and electrical engineering, as well as many other technical subjects.
I'm also an avid woodworker and builder. I live with my wife on a 40-acre horse farm in North Carolina. Mini BioResearch and Development Scientist
