I’ve been in a federal penitentiary, a state penitentiary and a correctional center. I spent time in a prison camp, a prison farm, and a prison built before the civil war.
I’ve worn a ball and chain, been chained to my chair, my waist, my ankles, the floor, the guy next to me, and the van I was riding in. Yup, I’ve been on a chain gang.
I’ve been on probation, parole, diversion, conditional release, and I’ve bailed out a few times.
I’ve been in a juvenile jail, a county jail, a Mexican jail and a military brig. I’ve even been in a tent city jail, where they made me wear pink underwear and eat green baloney. The food was much better in Mexico.
