Versed and conscious sedation

I have been told that I will be given Versed for an upcoming procedure. After reading about it on the web, I'm not sure whether to proceed. I have three questions:

1. Is it true that you carry on a conversation and say completely embarrassing things with no inhibitions during the whole procedure?

2. Is it true that it doesn't work for some people and they are in pain and aware of what is going on but unable to stop the procedure?

3. Is it true that you can lose more memory than just the time of the procedure? Can it have longer lasting memory loss effects?

Right now, I would like to quit the whole deal.

There are many websites quoting the horrors of versed. I'm one of the permanantly affected people. I have PTSD, Bipolar disorder, chronic depression and severe anxiety from being give this drug for an endoscopy w/o my knowledge. DO NOT LET YOUR DOCTOR GIVE YOU THIS DRUG!!!!!! I've lost years of memory from this. It's evil and should be taken off the market. Complain to the FDA about it. This meds does absolutely nothing for pain. I think the doctors/dentists administer it so they can torture the patient and have comfort in knowing that they won't remember what was done to them.
Read up on it, there are websites like Versed Busters, and something a guy names Brad wrote. or Ask a Patient: Medicine Ratings and Health Care Opinions and search under Versed or Midazalopam.
If you'd like personal experience from me, feel free to email me at [email address].
There are alot of other drugs that the doctors can use on you that don't have this affect. They like to use this one because it's cheap, big profit margin because they charge the insurance companies alot for it.....sickening that it's all about the all mighty dollar bill and not patient health and wellbeing.
