It is not appropriate for you to use at all. Medications are usually based on weight and individual health statistics.

This is an old prescription you said, so it could be expired and cause some serious side-effects. It was prescribed for your son to take and could either not work on you, or cause you serious side-effects.

Take some Tylenol, if the condition persists you need to see your doctor.

J_9 disagrees: We are not about drug abuse here. This is dangerous advice at best.

You need to take some tylonel, if it gets worse then see the doctor as J9 has said. It could be an earache caused from anything but The medicine from your son will not work for you. If the pain becomes severe it could be an ear infection which will be needed to be treated differently or it could be caused by a cold coming on which causes everything like your sinuses to get stuffed up.

This board is not about drug abuse. Vicodin Oxycontin are highly addictive and by prescription only.

Also, if it is an infection this will only prolong the agony!!!!!

Definitely go to a doctor, find out if it is an infection. The one thing I swear by for earaches though, is Similasan Homeopathic Earache Relief drops. You can find them many places, even Walmart if you live in the US. They work great, stopping the pain almost immediately and lasting for some time. Check with a doctor before use though, if there is a chance there is an infection.
Take care.
